First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Antelope Valley, California, was founded in 1955. We like to think of our church as a family. We encourage you to visit our worship services and study sessions. See Calendar of Events for a complete list of activities. Our worship services are traditional, but informal.

Disciples of Christ
 
First Christian Church is part of the Disciples of Christ denomination. The Bible is central to our belief, our life, and our witness. One of our slogans is "No creed but Christ". Another is "in essentials unity, in non-essentials liberty, and in all things love". Our essential confession is that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior. We believe that anyone who confesses faith in Christ is part of His church and that all of us, regardless of denomination, should work together for God's Kingdom. "We do not claim to be the only Christians, but Christians only." This thoughtful approach to Christianity provides a place where people in search of an intelligent faith are comfortable.

Our symbol is the chalice with a cross. The chalice expresses how important communion with Christ is to us, especially as experienced through weekly observance of the Lord's Supper. The cross is tilted to show our willingness to take up the cross and follow the Lordship of Christ.
